Mangalore, Jul 3: The District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) police have arrested 3 persons for selling lotteries illegally in the city on Monday July 2.

The arrested have been identified as Hamza from Bajpe, Abdul Rasheed from Punjalakatte and Ravi from Jappinamogaru. The state government has fully banned the sale of lotteries in the state. The arrested were found to be selling Bhutan lotteries at the old market in the city.

On a sure tip-off regarding the illegal sale of lotteries the police raided the petty shop and arrested the threesome who were selling lotteries illegally.

The police have seized 296 Bhutan lotteries with face value of Rs 10 each and cash Rs 1255 from the arrested. The case has been handed over to Bunder police station, sources said.
