Mangalore, Jul 3: KSRTC bus stand here was witness to  a protest organised by the District Youth Congress Committee (DYCC) here on Monday, July 2. The agitation was arranged to protest against hike in KSRTC bus fares causing distress to the man on the street.

On this occasion the transport minister Cheluvarayaswamy was handed over a letter by the DYCC through the KSRTC divisional controller. Through the letter, the committee stated that majority of the  middle and poor class people travel by KSRTC bus. This hike will pinch them the most. Hence "The hike is anti-people and the failure of administration of the government," it accused the government. Moreover the Committe also advised that the KSRTC should make profit by providing better service and not by hiking fares.
