The Weeknd's new single gains popularity in India


Mumbai, Sep 8 (IANS): Canadian musician The Weeknd's single "Can't feel my face", which raced its way up the Billboard charts, is also gaining ground among Indian music aficionados.

The Weeknd, whose given name is Abel Tesfaye, is seeing a surge in popularity in India as his single "Can't feel my face" is ranking on the top of music charts like iTunes, Shazam and VH1 India Top 10, said a statement.

The Weeknd's third album "Beauty Behind the Madness", which includes the chart-topping "Can't feel my face", contains 14 songs and also features appearances from the likes of Ed Sheeran, Lana Del Rey and Labrinth.

The MTV Video Music Awards, which were held in Los Angeles last week, also saw a performance by The Weeknd as he performed "Can't feel my face".

Actor-singer Jared Leto announced the performance in a flurry of fireworks and the foot-tapping showcase saw rapper Kanye West get up and dance to the song.
