Mumbai, Sep 7: Kangana Ranaut has treaded a hard path to reach the heights that she has achieved today - more so in a ruthlessly competitive industry and without a Godfather to boot - the actress loves the story of her life pitfalls, rumours, awards and all. She has apparently, decided on penning her life story in the near future.

Enjoying the stardom that has come with the hard bought success of her recent films, the actress has not forgotten how she began her journey that wasn't always this rosy. She explains, " mine has been a journey of a thousand miles. I didn’t fly first class into Mumbai. I have travelled in buses, taxis and trains, and even walked a lot. I have slept on the pavement, since I didn’t have a house. I have been caught in traps, so I had to lodge complaints against people. I have seen the ugly side. On the other hand, I have also been awarded by the President twice, and I am the highest-paid actress today (smiles).”

From her alleged association with many actors beginning with Aditya Pancholi, the actress is quite aware that writing her story might cause quite a few eye-brows to rise, and then some. She is however happy about the fact that she has repeatedly overcome all her obstacles with her strengths, and that is what fundamentally defines her path. The National Award winning actress also said, “There are all kinds of people in Bollywood and then, there is the cream. And they are holier-than-thou of course. But it is a very dark place, especially if you are from the low rung. However, when you come up you see all the shades.”

Kangana, who hails from a small town in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh, has come into her own in the Hindi film industry by doing some very unconventional roles that have caught and held the attention of the nation. Her recent spate of films like Fashion, Tanu Weds Manu, Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Queen have put the actress on the entirely different league making her the highest paid actress of today.

Out to promote her upcoming movie Katti Batti at a college in Mumbai, the actress spoke of relationships and said, "When you are romancing a woman in a relationship, it should be poetic. It should have layers. All beautiful things in this world are because of women." Kangana also spoke of her movie Katti Batti. She said: "The film is a very genuine and a beautiful love story. It talks about the depth of the relationships. Youngsters want very deep love stories." Directed by Nikhil Advani, the film is all set for release, next week on September 18.
