Mangalore, Jun 30: A massive protest rally agaisnt the attack on Fr Sylvester Pereira at Koteshwar recently will be held in front of the district commissioner's office in the city on Monday July 2.

This was announced in a press conference by Roy Castelino, president of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan here on Saturday June 30 morning.

The rally has been organized by the Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations in association with several other like-minded organizations.

The Carmelite priest Fr Sylvester Pereira was assaulted by a religious extremists on Monday June 25 at Kundapur. Already a mammoth protest was held at Kundapur a couple of days ago.   Apart from these, the incident has widely been criticized by all.  Even members of other communities have joined with minority community in protesting the heinous crime.

Stany Alvares, Ivan D’Souza, Mariamma Thomas, J S Noronha, Denis D'Silva, organizing secretary of Federation of Karnataka Christians' Associations and Roshan Castelino, president of Konkani Yuva Awaz were also present at the press conference.
