Mangalore, Jun 30: A marauding bullet tanker crushed a bike rider to death in front of the Vishnumurthy Temple at Kulai on National Highway 17 on Friday June 29.

The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Kumar (40), a clerk in IPWC Company in the NMPT yard.  Both the tanker and mobike were on their way to Panambur when the accident occurred.  Mahesh was thrown on the road after his bike skidded.

But before he could recover, LPG-laden bullet tanker which was speeding from behind passed on his body.  As a result Mahesh's body was slit into two.   The accident created a very ghastly scene on the spot.  As soon as the accident occurred a large number of people gathered on the spot which led to traffic disruption for sometime.

Mahesh's wife is employed with State Bank of India Panambur branch.  He is survived by wife and two children.
