Mangalore, Jun 29: The Second Additional District and Sessions Court judge R.S. Beerannavar on Thursday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his wife and directed the accused to pay Rs. 5,000 as a fine.

The accused Suresh B.M., a resident of Puttur, had allegedly clubbed his wife Sharada (32) to death on March 23, 2005 at Manjathi Kere in Puttur taluk under Kadaba Police Station limits suspecting her fidelity.

Ramesh Hullati, public prosecutor, second additional district and session’s court said the accused after committing the crime attempted suicide by consuming poison.
