Udupi, Jun 27: A scene was created when the protesters entered the land acquired by Nagarjuna Thermal Power Plant to dump its fly-ash at Santoor in Mudarangadi near here on Wednesday June 27 in the afternoon.

The protesters immediately evacuated the labourers who were working on the spot. The labourers were employees of Mudarangadi village panchayat president David D’Souza who is also a contractor there, said the sources.

Udupi MP Manorama Madhwaraj, Kaup block BJP president Ravindra Shetty Kallabettu, secretary Kutyar Navin Shetty, taluk panchayat member Chandrahas Poojary, Arun Shetty Padur, District BJP fishermen forum coordinator Vijay Karkera, Mudarangadi village panchayat member Shivaram Bhandary, Ravindra Prabhu and BJP Yuva Morcha president Giridhar Prabhu were present on the spot.
