Mangalore, Jun 28: Member of Parliament and former defence minister George Fernandes will be in the city to launch the Lawrence Fernandes Foundation at Father Muller Charitable Institutions here on Saturday June 30 at 3 pm.

A press release stated that the foundation has been established in memory of George Fernandes’ brother and former mayor of Bangalore Lawrence Fernandes.

There will be an exchange of deed endowment between the Foundation and FMCI by George Fernandes and Fr Baptist Menezes on the occasion.

A cheque of Rs 50 lac will be handed over to Fr Menezes for creating an endowment fund on behalf of the Foundation by George Fernandes, stated the release.
