Bangalore, Jun 28: A total of nine persons including 4 cops were injured in a police encounter which took place at Poornaprajna Layout, on Wednesday June 27.
However, the police were successful in arresting 5 of the gang of robbers. This arrested gang belong to a team of petrol bunk robbers, sources said.
Three days ago a robbery took place at a petrol bunk at Kumaraswami Layout in the city. While the police had started operations to arrest the said robbers on Wednesday early morning at Poornaprajna Layout, the robbers who were hiding in a house there attacked the police. Hence, the police in retaliation were forced to fire back at the robbers.
In all 4 policemen were injured in this incident. At the same time 5 robbers were also injured in the said encounter, and one among them is stated to be in a serious condition., sources added.
