Mangalore, Jun 26: The new post graduate courses in homeopathy at Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College (FMHMC) were inaugurated here on Monday June 25.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr S P Singh, homeopathy advisor, department of Ayush, government of India said that homeopathy medicines are affordable, effective and do not cause side-effects. Their popularity is not confined to India alone but is spread all over the world.

Explaining India’s potential in homeopathy, he said that the country has as many as 640 homeopathy drug manufacturing units, 292 hospitals, 5,398 dispensaries and 1,32,356 qualified doctors.

The programme was presided over by bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza.

The College is the first of its kind in the state to offer PG courses in homeopathy in all seven disciplines like pharmacy, medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry etc.

Among those present were FMHMC administrator Fr Stany Tauro, FMCI director Fr Baptist Menezes and others.
