Mangalore, Jun 23:  Two persons died within the premises of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers (MCF), after a wooden bridge collapsed on Saturday June 23 morning.

The deceased persons have been identified as Ramachandra Baliga and Ramananda Bagalodi, senior staff of MCF.  The incident occurred at about 9.30 am when they went on to inspect a cooling tower in the company.

Sources said that the problem arose at a cooling tower on Friday June 22 night owing to heavy rain and storm. Hence, a team of MCF went on to inspect the tower on Saturday June 23 morning. While crossing a wooden bridge which connects cooling tower and building, the bridge was collapsed.

Baliga and Bagalodi died on the spot and 3 were seriously injured. The victims said to have fallen down from about 200-meter height, sources said.
