Mangalore, Jun 23: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) distributed compensation to victims of seas erosion at Ullal on Friday June 22.

Following instructions given by the KPCC president Mallikarjuna Kharge, KPCC secretary Manjunath Bhandari along with his team visited Kotepura, Mogaveerapatna and Hilarynagar in Ullal. He listened to their woes and consoled the victims. The team then handed over a sum of Rs 25,000 each, to those who lost their homes either fully or partially owing to the menace caused by sea erosion.

According to the press release, District Congress Committee (DCC) vice-president Sadananda Poonja said that DCC and Ullal block Congress Committee would prepare a list of all the victims, requesting the KPCC to sanction compensation to all. A decision was also taken to urge the government to implement the proposal for a permanent solution to sea erosion.
