Mumbai, Jun 14: When it comes to making romantic movies, the first name that comes to mind is Yash Raj films.

And to reach out to audiences across India, Yash Raj films and Walt Disney studios have announced to co-produce a series of animation films in Indian languages.

Yash Chopra, the chairman of Yash Raj films, has his reasons to enter into this 50-50 joint venture.

"In Hum Tum and Tara Rum Pum, we used animation and this one reason why we got into animation because people have liked it," said Yash Chopra.

For a while now, Walt Disney studios had an aim to explore the Indian market and the partnership with Yash Raj films seems to suit them fine.

"Yash Raj films have been leading in Indian market and we want to produce good films," said Dick Cook, Walt Disney, Chairman.

Yash Raj alone produces six films a year, but now one more has been added to that list. Both the banners have already started on their first animation film called Road Side Romeo set for release in 2008.

While actors Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Javed Jaffery will lend their voice, the film is written and directed by actor Jugal Hansraj.

"We developed a goal of making six films a year and Aditya believed animation space to be explored," said Yash Raj.

The venture seems to hold a lot of promise for movie lovers across India as Yash Raj films is known for not compromising on the quality of films it produces.
