Bangalore, Jun 11: U T Khader who had recently been elected MLA of Ullal constituency in the by-election held on Saturday June 2 was sworn in as member of the legislative assembly here on Monday June 11 afternoon.
Assembly speaker Krishna administered the oath of office and secrecy to Khader. Soon after the oath taking ceremony Khader was surrounded by his well-wishers and partymen who wished him all the best. Senior party leaders from Dakshina Kannada district Ramanath Rai, Ivan D'Souza and others were also present on the occasion.
As reported earlier U T Khader had won the Ullal constituency by a margin of 8,032 votes over his nearest rival candidate Chandrashekhar Uchil of BJP. The election was necessitated owing to the demise of the then Ullal MLA and father of U T Khader, U T Fareed in the month of February, 2007.
