Kundapur, Jun.11: The local bus operators have announced the much awaited facility of prepaid bus passes and season tickets exclusively for the benefit of students of several educational institutions in the surrounding areas.

The facility proposed was on the model of KSRTC, which would come into effect from this academic year.

Sadanand Chatra, proprietor, Durgamba Motors, informed media persons recently that the proposed facility would be initially introduced on an experimental basis with effect from this academic year and that the bus passes and season tickets would be granted on payment of advance amount to the bus operators.

The facility would be applicable only to the existing routes, while the same will be extended to rest of the routes, provided the state government consents to repay the revenue loss incurred by the company.

The bus pass and season ticket will be valid from June 2007 to March 2008, while an amount of Rs.1,400 will be charged for college students, Rs.850 for the students of junior colleges and Rs.450 for the students of high schools.

Application forms are available at : Durgamba, Mithun Complex, Kundapur from Tuesday, Jun 12, 2007 between 10 am and 1 pm.
