Mangalore, Jun 10: A truck coming to the city went out of its driver's control, skidded off the road and rammed into a nearby house shed near the Kudupu temple around 11:30 pm here on Saturday, June 9.

The driver's negligence and speeding reportedly caused the mishap. For long, the spot has been identified an accident zone because of a a sharp and sudden bend.

According to the driver's version the accident occurred the brakes failed as a result of which he lost control of the vehicle. Fortunately neither the driver nor the cleaner who was in truck suffered any major injuries. Since the shed was rammed into, there was no harm to human life.

One important aspect to be borne in mind is the fact that rains do make the road very slipperywhich factor becomes a major cause for most accidents. Hence, it is imperative to reduce the speed of the vehicles, said the police.
