Puttur, Jun 9 : A woman committed suicide by hanging from the roof of her house at Salmara railway gate near here, on Friday morning.
She has been identified as Sana (22), wife of Sattar Shaikh, owner of Supreme Bakery, who was reportedly admitted to a hospital when the incident took place.
Sana, hailing from Hassan, was married to Sattar four years ago, and had two daughters thereafter. It is believed that she decided to end her life after the husband scolded here on a trivial matter.
A case been registered at Puttur town police station and investigation is in progress.
