Udupi, Jun 5: A programme was held here on Monday June 4 to release the emblem of the 74th All-India Kannada Literary Conference to be held in Udupi later this year.
The emblem was released by medical education minister and district in-charge minister V S Acharya.
It was decided that the name of renowned litterateur Vyasaraya Ballal will be proposed to the Kannada Sahitya Parishat central committee to preside over the conference.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya said that Udupi would be hosting the event after 47 years and called upon every individual concerned to make the conference a success.
Among those present were litterateur Dr Kayyara Kinhanna Rai, MLA Raghupati Bhat, reception committee honorary president K K Pai, DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura and Manipal Academy administrator Dr H Shantaram.
