Mangalore, Jun 5: In view of the deforestation that is taking place everywhere especially in Dakshina Kannada, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has decided to take measures to encourage afforestation.
In commemoration of World Environment Day celebrations on Tuesday June 5, the district administration together with local municipal authorities will launch an afforestation campaign. The step has been taken in view of making a greener world for the future generations.
KCCI President John Prasad Menezes has appealed to the public to spend some time, money and plant a new sapling and added that the awareness on rain harvesting would be highlighted too during the course of the campaign.
