Mangalore, Jun 5: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has dispatched 1.128 MMT of petroleum products in the month of May, thus achieving yet another milestone in its history.

MRPL had bagged a profit of Rs 11636.64 crore in its earnings of export alone last year, stated a press release. The demand was higher than the production of MRPL in the month of May but it could be met owing to a higher opening inventory. At present it is exporting fuel to Singapore, Mauritius and Abu Dhabi.

Managing Director of MRPL Rajamani said that the domestic demand is burgeoning as expected with a major demand for middle distillates and MRPL has risen to the occasion in fueling the nation’s requirements.

MRPL recently completed 1,254 accident-free days and won Jawaharlal Nehru Centenary award in energy conservation. It has declared a net profit of Rs 525 crore and a turnover of Rs 32376.8 crore for the year 2006-07, stated the release.
