Panaji, May 30: The BJP on Wednesday said that they will win comfortable majority in June two Goa polls which will pave way for the party to form the government in the state.

BJP national leader Sushma Swaraj, who is campaigning in Goa for the last couple of days, said that the party would get absolute majority in the state. "I have got good feedback from the people. The response which I got during the public meetings is something very encouraging," she said.

The party, which has fielded 33 candidates and lent support to an independent candidate in Cumbharjua constituency, on Wednesday categorically stated that it will not take support from any other political party to form government in the state. "We are sure to get clear mandate. But if we don't get it, we will prefer to sit in opposition," Swaraj said.

The BJP leader, however, was confident to have a clear majority stating that the era of fractured mandate is over in India. "Elections in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other states have clearly indicated that people don't believe in fractured mandate which leads to horse-trading. Goa, too, will fsee the end of  the tradition of horsetrading after this election," she said.

Stating that BJP has already focused their choice of chief minister in the form of Manohar Parrikar who has given performing government during his tenure, Swaraj said that Parrikar is determined to continue with such performance once voted to power. "People have comparison to make between Parrikar government and the two -year-old Congress-led government," she said.

Parrikar-led government was considered as India's model state government, she stated.

The BJP, she said, had achievements on their side to focus for this election while Congress has hate-BJP campaign on their side. "Left with no agenda, Congress party has begun the campaign by misguiding the minorities," she said.
