Panaji, May 28: National chairperson of Bal Bhavan India Anita Shaw inaugurated the 'Balotsav 2007' in the Dinananth Magueshkar Auditorium at Kala Academy.

Over 500 students from various Bal Bhavan centres across the state participated in the event and presented some of their best performances in dance, singing, solo, acting and so on.

Those present at the inaugural ceremony included chairperson of the Goa Bal Bhavan Vijaya Devi Rane, Member Secretary of Kala Academy Dr Pandurang Phaldesai and others.

National chairperson of Bal Bhavan Anita Shaw along with Goa Bal Bhavan chairperson Vijaya Devi Rane released the quaterly children magazine 'Bal Varta'.

On the ocassion works of art made by children were displayed, along with a drawing exhibition.

The children presented Kathak dance performances, Pankhuda dance, solo dialogue, Assomi Dance, Kundbi dance, Dhangar dance, Ghodemodani and many other forms.
