Udupi, May 24: Deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj has issued order to town council commissioner to provide passengers with better seating arrangements and other amenities at service bus stand here.

He was speaking presiding over the meeting of road safety committee in the deputy commissioner’s office here on Wednesday May 23.

He instructed the commissioner to arrange for drinking water facility, lights and seating arrangements in the service bus stand.  He also instructed the commissioner to construct a shed for the autorickshaws parking near town council office so that at least 5 rickshaws could be parked at a time there.  Further he asked MESCOM officials to shift electric transfers which are there in the service and city bus stands here.

Discussion was held with regard to constructing fly-over near the town council office.  Further it was informed that migrant workers should soon be shifted to labour colony or to labour market. So to city bus owners' association president was instructed to introduce bus time table in the city bus stand.

District SP S Subrahmaneshwar Rao, RTO M P Omkareshwari, town council in-charge commissioner Gokuldas Nayak and others were present at the meeting.
