Mangalore, May 23: Former president of KPCC Janardhan Poojari has started election campaign for Ullal by-election on Tuesday May 22.
Poojari paid visit to the houses in and around Thokkottu in the evening and distributed jasmines to the women and asked them to vote for Congress candidate U T Khader.
Earlier, speaking with press persons, he said that, JD (S) supremo Deve Gowda and his sons are playing a drama in the state. This drama is sponsored by BJP, he alleged.
He further said that JD (S) fielded its candidate by consulting BJP in order divide minority votes. Hence, BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu described it as ‘friendly fight,’ Poojari said.
In Ullal, BJP and JD (S) are fighting on caste basis. This is not a fight between Muslims and Hindus. But this is question of development of the district, he added.
