Mangalore, May 22: A case has been registered against training director of Serena Spa Pvt Ltd, Sabrina Hougard, in connection with the incident in which four persons, including 3 teenagers drowned in the Netravati river at Thumbe near here on Friday May 18.

Estephan D’Souza, mother of Jyoti Maria D’Souza, one of the victims has filed a case that it was owing to the negligence of the Institute by way of not taking enough precautions while arranging the picnic on the river bank. This negligence of the Institute claimed the lives of four persons.

The case has been registered at Bantwal rural police station. In this regard Sub-inspector of Bantwal Rural Police station Soumitro Tej said that the case has been registered under the section 304 A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
