Mangalore, May 21: A newly-built presbytery at the Blessed Joseph Vaz Shrine at Mudipu near here, was inaugurated on Monday May 21.

Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore, blessed and inaugurated the presbytery. He also offered Mass in which thousands of devotees and many priests and religious participated.





Later Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the stage programme. Fr Peter S Noronha, Fr Valerian D’Souza, Fr Andrew D’Souza, Fr Lancy Saldanha, Rolphy Mascarenhas and Michael D’Souza, were present on the dais.





At the same time, former priests of the church Fr Gregory Serrao, Fr Victor D’Souza and Fr Pradeep Correa, present priest Fr Andrew D’Souza, Vinod Gangolli, who directed a film on Blessed Joseph Vaz, were felicitated by the bishop.





Lily D’Souza, secretary, parish council, presented the report. Michael D’Souza, vice-president, parish council, welcomed the gathering. Santosh D’Souza compered the programme.
