Udupi, May 21: Miscreants who forcibly entered in to Hazrath Shekh Sadik Valiallahi Dargah Sharif at Hoode near Kemman here have damaged belongings of the Dargah on Sunday May 20 afternoon.

A group of almost 20 youth who came on 10 mobikes on Sunday afternoon broke open the front door and ransacked the Dargah.  Though nothing more is known about the miscreants, it is said that the incident is the result of differences and rivalry between Salafis and Sunnis.  It is even said that it could be the handiwork of on Muzakir and his men.  A complaint has been filed in Malpe police station in this regard.

Some repair works had been planned in Dargah almost a month ago.  But some had raised objection for this.  But the works were later undertaken after receiving permission of Waqf Board.  However some still had issues with regards to this. This might have resulted in that attack, some observed.
