Mangalore, May 20: Dakshina Kannada Kottari Samaja Sudharaka Sangha celebrated its Golden Jubilee here on Sunday May 20.

Deputy chief minister B S Yadiyurapa and former CM M Veerappa Moily inaugurated the function. Speaking on the occasion Yadiyurappa said it was commendable for the Kottari community organization to have functioned for 50 years while many such community organizations come into existence but wither away in a few years. In Dakshina Kannada there were a few organizations like Bunts Association and Kottari Samaja.

At the inaugural function, Shri Narasimmha Samputa Math's Swamiji Vidyaprasanna Thirtha of Subrahmanya graced the occasion and Manila Shri Mohandas Swamiji released the souvenir. Vittal MLA admanabha Kottari presided over the function.

Other chief guests were district minister in charge B Nagaraj Shetty, Karnataka Apex Bank president M N Rajendra Kumar, president of Bunts Association Ajit Kumar Rai Maladi, president of Billavar Union Naveenchandra D Suvarna, Jain Travels proprietor Ratnakar Jain and Kottari association president Mahalinga Kottari were present on the occasion.

The valedictory function was held in the afternoon.
