Mangalore, May 17: Thieves who broke open into Shree Bhramarambika Temple at Mathadakani-Bokkapatna near here on Wednesday 16 have decamped with gold ornaments and alms boxes.

Thieves said to have gained entry into the temple by breaking open the lock of the front door on Wednesday night.  Though they could not steal many valuables, they have decamped with 72 grams of gold and 3 alms boxes. 

The total value of the stolen ornaments and money that was in the alms box is yet to be estimated.

This is the second successive theft in the Barke police station limits.  After registering the case, the Barke police led by SI Dharmaiah visited the place.  Even sniffer dogs were summoned to the spot.
