Karkala, May 17: Sushant Pai (17), a First PUC student from here, died in a motorcycle accident at Katakeri in Kodagu earlier this week.
Sushant and his friend Kirti Daniel had gone to attend the Auto Cross Rally - 2007 which was held at Begur Kolli near Ponampet in Kodagu on May 13.
As they were returning to Mangalore on a motorbike, while trying to avoid colliding with a vehicle from the opposite direction at Katakeri, the motorcycle skidded and they were thrown to the ground.
Sushant sustained fatal injuries. After first aid in Madikeri hospital, he was rushed to Mangalore for further treatment. But he succumbed to the injuries there.
Kirti Daniel has fractured his leg and is under medical attention.
Madikeri rural police have registered a case in this regard.
