BJP has announced names of its candidates for 34 constituencies while strategic alliance is being worked out in six seats.

Contrary to its earlier practice of kicking off campaign from rural constituencies, the BJP, this time, will have its first public meeting at Panaji, a constituency represented its chief ministerial candidate, Manohar Parrikar.

Parrikar has won from Panaji seat during the last two Assembly elections and is contesting for the third time from the constituency.
