Mangalore, May 16: Well-known advocate and vice-president of Dakshina Kannada Congress Committee Ivan D’Souza has been appointed election agent of U T Khader, Congress candidate for Ullal by-election. Ivan would perform election procedures on behalf of Khader.

Election Fever:

Election fever has already gripped Ullal assembly constituency. It is said that, there would be direct fight between BJP and Congress. Hence, both the parties are making all their efforts to convince voters here. BJP has already started door-to-door visits.

On Tuesday May 16, under the leadership of district-in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty, BJP went on campaigning in some areas of Uchil. At the same time, another team under the leadership of Chandrahas Uchil, the BJP candidate covered another side there. The door-to-door canvassing went on even in the last hours on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile BJP's coalition partner JD (S) which has fielded its candidate for the election has said that its only aim is to defeat Congress.  Many are of the opinion that if Abubakkar Natekal manages to gain at least 10,000 votes, it would be quite difficult for Congress to retain the constituency.
