Mangalore, May 15: Bangalore-based Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts which works in the field of contemporary dance is recruiting dancers and trainee dancers who have completed their II PUC.

An audition has been arranged for those interested in developing a career in dance at Vidyadaayini School in Suratkal near here on Sunday May 27 from 9.30 am to 12.00 pm, said Hema Bharathy of Attakkalari, addressing the media persons.

The selected candidates will undergo a one-year diploma course in movement arts and mixed media in Attakkalari. After training the candidates can join Attakkalari’s repertory company that performs in major national and international festivals or seek jobs outside.

Hema said that the centre is in search of young dancers between 18 and 30 years of age. She added that a platform will also be given to them to explore, experience and experiment.

She further said that the training will be given to candidates by experienced and well qualified teachers in Bharatnatyam, Kalarippayattu and contemporary dance.
