Mangalore, May 14: A meeting was held at Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) office to discuss the notification issued by the state government to shift the traders of Old Bunder to Baikampady APMC yard, on Monday May 14 evening.

It was decided to form an action committee consisting of 8 to 10 members in which KCCI members and traders of Old Bunder area would be included, to fight against shifting of traders.

At the same time, KCCI office-bearer G G Mohandas Pai said that he had already met Yadiyurappa, deputy chief minister of the state and requested him to reconsider the notification.  He also said that, a meeting will be held at Vidhana Soudha on May 17 in which MLAs of Dakshina Kannada, office-bearers of KCCI and other officials would participate.

Capt John Prasad Menezes, president of KCCI, office-bearers Ahmed Bava, Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, Shrinivas Kamath and others were present at the meeting.
