Mangalore, May 14:  M K Krishnayya president of Dakshina Kannada Philatelic and Numismatic Association will take part in the state-level philatelic and numismatic exhibition (Karnapex) planned to be held in August in Bangalore.

Krishnayya was re-elected president of the association on Sunday May 13. Along with him M Prabhakar Kamath, secretary, Shashidar Pai and Mansoor Hassan, joint secretaries, Raghunath, treasurer, K V Shanbag, Jane D’Souza and S Gopal, vice-presidents too were elected for the second consecutive term.

The association decided to hike its membership fee in the meeting. As per the tariff, for the ordinary membership one has to pay Rs 200 while for a life membership it is Rs 1,000. A patent membership costs a minimum of Rs 1,500. However, for students the membership fee is Rs 50 per annum.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the Karavali Nanya Darshan which was organized in December 2006.The association congratulated Hariath Lasrado and B M Prakash Shetty for the prizes they won in the philatelic exhibition, which was a part of the flower and fruit show organized by the Horticulture Department in Kadri Park in the month of March.
