Mysore, May 13: Here is good news for those who cannot afford the exorbitant fare for traveling in air-conditioned buses like Volvo.

Karnataka State Road Trans-port Corporation (KSRTC) has created the facility of traveling by non-stop bus service in air-conditioned comfort between Mysore and Bangalore for Rs 100 as the fare. Those who cannot afford to travel either in Mayura AC by paying Rs 125 as the fare per person or by Volvo by paying Rs 180 can now travel in air-conditioned bus by paying just Rs 100.

The KSRTC has started the new air-conditioned bus service Suvarna Karnataka Plus between Mysore and Bangalore. The inaugural run of the bus started from Bangalore recently.

In order to attract passengers traveling in higher class, KSRTC has introduced two more luxury buses. Constructed on the Maharashtra model, two Carona air-conditioned buses and the buses manufactured by Ashok Leyland Company in Tamil Nadu Luxura have been put on a non-stop service between Bangalore and Mysore on experimental basis.

These buses will be operated twice a day. The fare per passenger on these buses is Rs 180, similar to Volvo bus, disclosed Ashok Kumar, KSRTC Divisional Controller, Rural Division. The two new bus services between Bangalore and Mysore have earned appreciation from the passengers. The buses look attractive and have good seating.
