Mangalore, May 13: Dakshina Kannada, Kannada Sahitya Academy will be organizing a programme to facilitate prominent poet G S Shivarudrappa on June 9. The ‘Tulunadu Nagarika Sanmana’ will be conferred on the state poet.
On Saturday Kannada Sahitya Parishat district president Pradeep Kumar Kalkur held a meeting to discuss the preparations for the felicitation programme.
Sharana Sahitya Parishat District President Asha Kiran and Mukund Prabhu were present on the occasion.
S M Hegde was appointed as the general secretary of the organizing committee, while Baikadi Janardhan Acharya is the secretary, Sathyanarayan Mallipatna, adviser and Mukunda Prabhu as the souvenir editor.
Dharmastala Dharmadikari Dr D Veerndra Heggde will be the chief guest for the felicitation programme. On this occasion poems of Shivarudrappa will be sung and a souvenir will also be released.
