Selvaraghavan's 'Kaan' to release in foreign languages


Chennai, July 8 (IANS): Filmmaker Selvaraghavan is planning to release his upcoming Tamil thriller "Kaan", which features actor Silambarasan aka Simbu in the lead, in Spanish, French and Portuguese among other international languages.

"Kaan starring @iam_str will be released in international versions also. Hope they like it too (sic)," Selvaraghavan posted on his Twitter page on Wednesday.

A source close to Selvaraghavan told IANS: "They're planning to release the film in over 10 international languages such as Spanish, French and Portuguese, as the Selvaraghavan believes the content has global appeal."

The film also stars Taapsee Pannu and Catherine Tresa in important roles.

Asked if the international version of the film will be different from the original, the source said: "Selvaraghavan hasn't decided yet. He may exempt the songs from the international version, but he will only take a call on that after the film is completed."

Said to be a taut thriller, Simbu plays a lord Muruga devotee in the film, while Taapsee will be seen as a police officer.
