Mumbai, Jun 30: The character name Rani seems to work, wonders of sorts for Kangana Ranaut as she gets ready to learn horse riding and sword fighting to play the role of Jhansi ki Rani, Laxmi Bai. Director Ketan Mehta who had told media persons about Kangana being on board the venture, said, "She (Kangana) is on board. She has liked the script. It's role of a lifetime. She is at the top now... she is doing good work. I think she was best for the film."

Her first one Revolver Rani made people wonder if she knew what she was doing while the second one titled Queen, where in her character's name was Rani was a wonder at the Box office. Now comes the third instalment where Kangana has given the nod to play the legendary Rani Laxmi Bai in Ketan Mehta's biopic about the warrior Queen.

Mehta had previously given his audiences the movie Mangal Pandey starring Aamir Khan which was also based on pre-independence India and specifically about the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857. He seems to be one director who enjoys telling the story of India before its independence and has also revealed that the movie on Rani Laxmi Bai is slated to go on floors sometime next year. In the mean time Kangana is in training so she can give her best to this demanding role.

Speaking about his next venture, Ketan said, "Rani Laxmibai is one of the most fascinating women I have come across in terms of what she has done in her life. I enjoy making biopics. It is a great platform to say stories of those people who have done great work. It has been a challenge to write this biopic but these are good challenges. I am very excited to start working on it."
