Delhi fashion students to host carnival

New Delhi, June 29 (IANS): From basketball jackets, tuxedos to jewellery -- a collection of both menswear and womenswear will be on display during a two-day fashion carnival here.

The JD Annual Design Awards 2015, organised by JD Institute of Fashion Technology, will be unveiled at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium starting on July 1.

This two-day festival of creativity will showcase works of students of fashion, interior and jewellery design departments on the theme ‘Pure’.

“The crafts of India are diverse and rich in history and religion. The aesthetics of each state in India reflects the influence of different empires. Despite the steep and upsetting decline of Indian arts, there is hope on the horizon.

“I am elated to see some serious potential and responsibility among my student designers. In all, this will bring in new set of ‘Pure designers'," R.C. Dalal, executive director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, said in a statement.
