Mumbai, Jun 28: Nude pics of actresses from the sets of films that they are working on, finding their way into cyber space, seems to have become common place. Preeti Gupta who was a known face amongst the cast of Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki (KGGK) found this deeply disconcerting and is furious at the gross violation of her privacy.

Preeti spoke up on the issue saying, “It’s true that the actors are vulnerable, and I am actually very angry about it. It’s bizarre and a violation of privacy. It’s not cool, and if there is anything to be banned, it’s such kind of things.” The actress shot certain scenes in the nude for her film titled 'Unfreedom' which was about lesbian couple. The actress said, “Unfreedom is a very significant film. There’re two stories, mine is one of them. It shows how homosexuality prevails in the lower class and middle class. Upper class may treat it differently, but for others it’s something completely unacceptable. It can easily trigger violence.”

Speaking about the shoot itself and the need for such scenes in some topical movies, she explained, “Shooting such scenes needs dedication and discipline. It’s very challenging. The concept of the film made sense to me and that’s why we decided to show the truth of the situation. Ultimately, we were trying to recreate two hours of reality. Our intention is not to titillate but to show you the truth. It needs courage.”

The movie, by Raj Amit Kumar has been banned in India. To this the actress said, “I find the ban very ridiculous, why should anything be banned? Don’t you trust the audience’s intelligence? One needs to watch the film to get the message, no? See, we are all adults and we should be given the choice to judge the content of a film. Homosexuality is very natural, what’s so different about it? I don’t understand why people are so scared of this film? We have made it with a purpose; we want to make a point through this. We need to sit and talk about it. If we ignore the context then it’s a pointless exercise. It should be released and people should watch this film.”

Earlier actress Hunterrr Radhika Apte had gone through a similar situation, but the actress had simply brushed it off with a laugh saying, “I don’t have time for this. You know the whole world has lots of people, who have no jobs. They sit at home and do whatever they want to do. So you can’t waste your time on going and making a complaint or even looking at it. I saw it and laughed it off because it is really funny…. I am really busy. I can’t waste my time doing that. My family and I never get affected by any of these things. So it just doesn’t bother me.”
