Delhi exhibition to display home furnishings from across the globe

New Delhi, June 12 (IANS): A rich collection of home furnishings from China, Germany, India, Pakistan, Thailand and USA will be exhibited at Pragati Maidan from June 25 to 27, a press statement said on Friday.

The event named Heimtextile will exhibit wares from 100 leading companies and will be organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fair India.

Local companies, international brands and designer labels will compete with each other under one single platform at industry's best prices, the statement added.

"Growing domestic demand, laudable export performance and emergence of a new breed of entrepreneurs characterise India's home textile industry in the last couple of decades," said Santosh Kumar Gangwar, minister of state for textiles (independent charge).

"It is heartening to mention that Mumbai, Delhi, Panipat, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Cannanore, Karur and many other clusters have been developed to meet international standards," added Gangwar.

Some Indian companies which are expected mark their presence at the event are Jabong, Fabfurnish, Shoppers Stop, Harisons Furnishings and Home Saaz.

Messe Frankfurt is a global player specialising in organising trade fairs, congresses and and events. In India, it organises trade fairs for mobility and infrastructure, technology and production, textiles and consumer goods segments.
