Search on for missing Indian national in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, June 2 (IANS): A search operation has been launched in Malaysia for a 41-year-old Indian national who has been missing since May 26, media reported on Tuesday.

According to sources, Singamuthu Chezhiyan, a restaurant accountant who is originally from India's Tamil Nadu state and living with his family in Penang state, is untraceable, the New Straits Times reported.

A police official said that Singamuthu went missing after failing to return home from work on May 26.

"Singamuthu has been living in Malaysia since the past 15 years and he has all his legal documents and a valid work permit," the official said.

"We found Singamuthu's company car deserted in Parit Buntar area in a good condition, but he is not traceable. His family members also have tried contacting him."
