Pakistan Army violates ceasefire on LoC

Jammu, June 1 (IANS): The Pakistan Army on Monday twice violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing at our positions in Krishna Ghati sector of LoC twice in the last 12 hours," Colonel Manish Mehta, a defence ministry spokesman, told IANS.

"They used small arms and rockets to target our positions. The firing lasted for half hour," Col. Mehta said.

"In the morning, Pakistani troops again resorted to unprovoked firing at 6 a.m. This time the firing lasted for 10 minutes. Our troops did not retaliate. No casualty or damage occurred on our side," he added.
