Three militants killed in Afghan attack


Kabul, Jun 1 (IANS): Three Taliban militants were killed in an attack on a police station in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, an official said on Monday.

Militants stormed the police station in the provincial capital of Jalalabad late on Sunday night, reported Xinhua news agency.

Nineteen civilians, including five children, were injured in the attack that ended early Monday, the security official added.

A Taliban militant group has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
