Haryana may restart exams in schools: Khattar

Kurukshetra (Haryana), May 25 (IANS): The Haryana government was mulling reverting to the old examination pattern rather than the prevailing grading system from Class 1 to 8, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Monday.

"With a view to ensuring improvement in the teaching level in the schools, quality improvement programme through remedial teaching would be implemented on a priority basis," he told reporters here, some 100 km from state capital Chandigarh.

A monthly test scheme has been introduced in schools to improve the education level, he said.

Apart from this, a teacher's diary has been made mandatory to create a sense of self-discipline, the chief minister said.
