Dreaded criminal, 4 accomplices held in Gurgaon


Gurgaon, May 25 (IANS): A dreaded criminal, involved in over 20 cases of murder, attempt to murder and robbery, has been arrested along with four of his accomplices, police said on Monday.

A snatched car and seven pistols were seized from the arrested criminals, identified as 40-year-old Surender alias Sunda, involved in the murder of three people here and carrying a bounty of Rs.2 lakh, as well as his accomplices Vipin alias Samrat, Sandeep alias Tinu, Ravidutt alias Dhillu (all in their early twenties) and Amardeep alias Chinu, 30.

The criminals, belonging to different villages in Jhajjar district of Haryana, were arrested by a crime branch team from near Sultanpur village here, deputy commissioner of police (crime) V.P. Godara told reporters here.

Sunda's wife Seema is the chairperson of Jhajjar Block Samiti and has been jailed on charge of plotting a murder in her in-laws' village Dadri Toe in Jhajjar. Sunda had shot dead a man in this village.

"Sunda, who is the kingpin of the gang, along with his accomplices had gunned down Sanjay Garg, his brother Pawan Garg and property dealer Randhir Pahalwan in Gurgaon," the officer said.

Trader Sanjay, 47, was gunned down on March 1 outside his house in Sohna town near here, while his elder brother Pawan was shot dead at his shop on May 15. Pahalwan was murdered on April 14 while on a morning walk.

"A school dropout, Sunda is a professional shooter and has criminal record in Haryana, Delhi and Punjab. We are questioning him and his accomplices after taking them on police remand," DCP Godara said.
