Lupin to replace Tata Power in BSE Sensex from June 22


Kolkata, May 23 (IANS): Drug major Lupin will be replacing integrated power company, Tata Power Co Ltd in the S&P BSE Sensex from June 22.

Asia Index Private Ltd. (AIPL) - a 50-50 partnership between S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) - in a statement, announced changes in major indices on the bourse's indices.

According to the statement, in the S&P BSE Bankex category, Canara Bank and Bank of India have been excluded while in the tech list, three companies - CMC Ltd, Mphasis and Vakrangee Ltd - have been replaced by four other companies.

Tata Motors' differential voting rights as well as ordinary shares have made way to the top 100, 200 and 500 list while Adani Power Ltd has lost its place in both the top 100 list as well as the Carbonex list.

In the top 100 as well as Carbonex index, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has been included.

In the S&P BSE 200 category, a total of ten changes have been made while in the top 500 list, an inclusion of 27 companies and exclusion of 26 companies will be effected June 22 onwards.
