NDA able to bridge gap between government, people: BJP

Guwahati, May 22 (IANS): The BJP on Friday said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the centre was able to bridge the gap between the government and people, which was disrupted during the rule of the previous Congress-led government.

The NDA government, which completes one year in office on May 26, was successful in removing the "trust deficit" among the people, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said.

"It became possible because of the bold steps taken by Prime Minister (Narendra Modi). The 'Jan Dhan Yojana' is one such bold initiative taken by the government by opening over 15 crore bank accounts for people who otherwise did not have access to the formal banking system," Patra said.

The BJP spokesperson was in the city to conduct a special workshop for the party's state leaders and workers.

"The government has been able to check corruption, it has not been allowing even a single penny from the exchequer to be wasted and it is indeed a great achievement," Patra added.
